Founder & Director, InsureReg

Francis Furey, founder of InsureReg

Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries with nearly 20 years’ experience across insurance, actuarial advisory, prudential regulation, financial reporting, capital modelling and assurance.

Francis brings senior judgement to complex reporting, capital, modelling and regulatory matters, translating technical requirements into clear practical actions and Board-level decisions.

His experience includes leading client engagements, advising senior stakeholders, interpreting regulatory change, and building and running an advisory practice.

I hold a Professional Academy Diploma in Artificial Intelligence for Business, awarded with distinction. This complements my insurance experience and supports a practical focus on AI opportunities, readiness and management oversight.

I have also formed an AI advisory partnership that adds AI strategy, use case development, adoption planning and a commercial value perspective. Together, these perspectives help clients assess readiness and move forward with proportionate governance and clear accountability.

About InsureReg

InsureReg is a founder-led insurance actuarial, risk and regulatory advisory and insights business. It supports insurers and reinsurers facing significant regulatory change by combining substantive regulatory insight with focused senior advisory support.

Through InsureReg Insights, focused advisory projects and senior interim support, InsureReg helps insurers understand regulatory developments, assess practical implications, prioritise action and support clear management and Board-level decision-making.

The business is deliberately practical, selective and senior-led, with a focus on developments that require management attention, implementation judgement or clear Board-level communication.

Approach

InsureReg’s work is:

  • senior-led
  • practical
  • evidence-based
  • insurer-focused
  • actuarial, risk and regulatory
  • Board-relevant
  • commercially aware
  • restrained and professionally independent

The same approach underpins both the advisory work and InsureReg Insights.
